Sunday, September 27th, 2026 at 10am near the Wollman Rink in Central Park

EVENT INFO: This is a free, no RSVP needed sighthound meetup with a bring your own picnic and a 2/3rds mi. walk (with a shorter 1/3rd mile option available). It brings together Greyhounds, Galgos, Greyhound mixes and other sighthounds (Iggies, Whippets, Salukis, Podencos and more) and their adopters, fosters, owners, and people who just want to meet them. Other dogs from a Greyhound family may attend, however this is not an all-dog breed event. Check out one of our prior fun walks!

Dogs that attend must be all dog and all people friendly and on a leash at all times.

LOCATION: Grassy area West of Wollman Rink. Check our Directions Page.

WALK: We'll be walking 2/3rds of a mile clockwise around the Wollman Rink and The Pond and a shorter 1/3rd mile option will be available. You can walk as much or as little as you want or just picnic all day! The route is a circle so you can walk a bit and come back to the picnic area if you do not want to walk the full 2/3rds mile or 1/3rd mile option.

SCHEDULE:

10am - Arrival and check in. Find your perfect picnic spot and check in to get your free raffle ticket for every sighthound in attendance for a $100 Chewy gift card. Also pick up a complimentary pup mini-goodie bag.

11am - Group photo and start of the walk - clockwise around Wollman Rink and The Pond. Shorter walk also goes clockwise around Wollman Rink and the Gapstow Bridge.

1pm - Say goodbye, get the digits for all the friends you've made and take last memorable photos and vids.

WHAT TO BRING: A blanket and food/treats for you and your pups.

RESTROOMS: Water fountains and restrooms are available as you walk into the park and not too far from our meetup spot. Check directions page for locations.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: No flexi-leads or very long leads.

THEME: This year's theme is Mythical Mutts.
